Book Fair Parade!

What a colourful "Kiwi' parade we had at St Pauls for Book Fair Week.
There were farmers and sheep, cows, kiwis, cans of L&P, rugby players, a Kapa haka group and even a Mrs Wishy Washy!
Well done to all of you Kereru Kids who made a big effort to get dressed up in your Kiwi best!

Book Fair

On Monday the book fair started. Everyone was keen to have a look around. Our class made some pompom kiwi and sheep. They looked very CUTE!!!!! The book fair has over 100 books and a big range between girls and boys books. There are arts and crafts book and there are rubbers and pencils. There are sticker books and colouring books.

Olympic Spirit!

Congratulations to these wonderful students who demonstrated the Olympic values of 
Effort, Fair Play, Respect for Others and Pursuit of Excellence in their chosen sport at the Year 5/6 Winter Tournament last week.

Book Week Pompoms

We made these little pompom kiwis for the Book Fair. 
It was quite tricky and time consuming but we think they turned out really cute!

Winter Tournament

Winter Tournament

In the winter tournament the rugby boys got 1st.They played Brightwater in the final and won 6-0.
The soccer players made it to the final but had a tough lose to Henley 2-0. They ended up getting 2nd
The girls netball team made it to the final and won 7-1.The boccia team made it to the final but unfortunately they lost 2-1.The other soccer team played off for 3rd and 4th. They got 3 equal.

Winter Tournament

On Tuesday we have Winter Tournament over at Henley. Remember to come to school in your P.E gear. It is an 'all day' event so bring the following:
  • Water
  • Snacks and lunch
  • Warm clothing (track pants and your school polar fleece)
  • Raincoat (in case of showers or rain)
  • Shin pads, mouth guards, boots (if needed)
  • A competitive but fair and friendly attitude :)
Games will start at 10.00a.m

Kereru Shining Stars!


On Saturday the 13th of August I did a Speech Competition. I did readings, poems and mimes.
I got one gold, three silver and two bronze awards. I also got a trophy for reading from the bible.

On Friday, Saturday and Sunday the 5th-7th of August I competed in a swim meet.
I got six golds, three silvers and one bronze. I did 10 events.

Katie's Dragon

Katie has been working very patiently for weeks on this amazing collage artwork. She started by drawing the outline of the Rain Wing Dragon, adding pieces of fabric, painting and finally adding the flowers. The detail is fantastic! Well done Katie!

Meditating in Kereru

In Kereru Class we enjoy meditating as it helps us to relax and not worry about things so much. It also helps us to focus and face the day with a positive energy.
