The Game of Awesome!

This week we received a Ministry of Education writing resource named The Game of Awesome! The students have had a couple of sessions playing the game in order to understand how it all works and their feedback has been really positive. Next week we plan on taking the next step and using the game to generate ideas for writing.
Here is a link to a short video about the game followed by some photos and student comments.

Swimming Fun

This week Kereru class had swimming lessons at the ASB Aquatic Centre.
Swimming was really fun especially when our class had a lifesaving session. We got taught how to make a huddle in the water as well as flipping off a boat safely.
In swimming we mainly focused on freestyle, backstroke and breaststroke.
Isla quotes 'I really liked the coaches because they were really supportive and nice''

Fun Times!

Muddy Buddy!
Some of our students participated in last weekend's Muddy Buddy and by the looks of it they had a blast!
Thank you to Jacob and Austin for the photos.
Here are the before and after shots!

Taylor went over to Waimea College to spend time with a tuatara. She said she thought it would feel bumpy but was actually quite smooth.

Keeping it Clean in Kereru!

Thank you very much to the parents who have generously supplied us with some wipes for classroom tables and also tissues for our noses! Unfortunately some stationery boxes at the beginning of the year were missing tissues so we are desperately short, especially moving into autumn and winter. Please keep them coming!
